Inflammatory bowel diseases, namely, Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, are difficult to diagnose in a timely manner due to generic symptoms and lack of precise and reliable diagnostic methods priming for disease complications and colorectal cancer development.
Current methods are not specific, are lengthy and invasive. Thus, there is an urgent need for specific, sensitive and non-invasive tests for inflammatory bowel diseases diagnostics.
We have developed a new lab test based on MALDI-TOF/MS for Inflammatory bowel disease. It can discriminate between Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, is fast, sensitive and non-invasive.
