Fenestrated aortic endografts are used to treat aneurysmal aortic pathologies. These devices feature fenestrations at the origin of the renal and visceral arteries to preserve their patency. Traditionally, manufacturers determine the precise location of these fenestrations through specific measurements and complex mathematical calculations for each individual patient and/or non-standardized methods. Since every patient has a unique anatomy, the location of the visceral and renal vessels varies. To ensure proper alignment between the fenestrations and target vessels, fenestrated endografts are typically custom-made using a patient-specific approach by endograft producers. In urgency situations, when time is of essence, a tubular endograft can be manually modified by the surgeon to create fenestrations. However, this process is complex, requiring highly precise measurements and calculations, which increases the risk of potential errors. This patent introduces a simple, medical personnel friendly, algorithm for determining fenestration positions on the endograft.

  • Enhanced Multiplexing in Single-Cell Imaging Using 2D Nanolabels

Single-cell analysis is essential for understanding complex biological systems, but conventional methods like flow cytometry are constrained by spectral overlap and limited detection channels. While mass cytometry (CyTOF) addresses these issues using metal isotopes, its multiplexing capacity is capped by...

  • Method for controlling the delivery of insulin

Currently diabetic patients wear sensors that track and communicate their glucose levels, as well as alarm when they go out of range. The patient, if aware and shrewd, then injects the correct amount of insulin based on the glycemic level...

  • Enzymatic Approach to Mapping Cell–Cell Interactions in Complex Populations

In recent years, the study of cell–cell interactions has become essential for understanding complex biological processes, from immune responses to tumor progression and viral infections. Current methods, however, cannot simultaneously analyze interactions between heterogeneous cell populations or precisely identify the...
