A job interview? An internship where you can put what you’ve learned into practice? Let’s get started together.
- How do you talk about who you are and what you can do when you do not have much experience yet?
- What do you do when you are asked a question you were not expecting?
- How do you make room for your emotions and find your way back when all the attention is on you?
An event where we will explore job interviews together, with real-life examples and opportunities to put yourself to the test in a welcoming, judgement-free environment. We will also talk about the most common mistakes, not to give you a score, but to understand how to deal with them and move forward.
You do not need to have the perfect answer: we are here to learn.
ColloquIA Live is an afternoon of hands-on practice and discussion designed to help you approach your first interviews with greater confidence. You will put yourself to the test with ColloquIA, the virtual agent that lets you simulate a job interview, and you will be able to discuss the suggestions in your final report directly with a career counsellor from the Career Service.
You will be able to put what you have observed into practice straight away, recognise your strengths and understand what you need to work on, also in preparation for the Università Aperta IES Career Day on 5 November and future Career Days.
But first, you will have a unique immersive experience.
A plenary session in which professional actors, supported by the Career Service, perform interviews inspired by real-life situations: from a well-prepared candidate who is overwhelmed by nerves to someone who answers confidently but has done very little preparation. It is a chance to observe different approaches and understand which strategies work, which mistakes to avoid and how to deal with the unexpected.
Then it is your turn.
The second part of the event is dynamic and hands-on, giving you the chance to get involved and put yourself to the test. You can join the Career Service warm-up session, create your CV from scratch or improve the one you already have during the CV check, complete an interview simulation with ColloquIA and discuss your report with a career counsellor. You can also take part in a workshop on improvisation, personal branding and body language to develop the non-verbal side of communication, which plays an important role in how you present yourself.
Discover ColloquIA

- Put yourself to the test and receive feedback: Take part in an interview simulation with ColloquIA and talk to a career counsellor about your strengths and the areas you can improve.
- Learn how to manage your emotions: Try practical exercises focusing on posture, voice and body language in a workshop with professional actors, so that you can present yourself with greater confidence.
Who is it for?
The event is for bachelor’s and master’s students and recent graduates from the University of Padua who want to prepare for entering the world of work. No previous experience is needed: all you need is the willingness to give it a go.
For students on STEM or economics-related degree programmes, it will also be a great opportunity to prepare for the Università Aperta IES Career Day.
